I grew up an explorer. Climbing out of my crib before I could walk, exploring blanket and box forts and the branches of green ash in the City of Trees. Then I began scraping my knees on concrete and straightening my hair and sitting still, caring about what others thought.
As we get older the window to a life of beauty and abundance doesn’t need to get smaller and fogged up by distractions and expectations. Rather than sitting content on my ass, talking about doing something great one day, I want to begin– yesterday. I want to crawl outside the window before it’s too late. I know it will be difficult, life is difficult. But I’d rather fight for something I believe is worth fighting for than invite the rest of the world to fight against me. Get outside the box, fight for a life worth living, and realize it’s alright to take risks, to wear a dress with bruised knees, to leave town on a Tuesday. Lets stoke the fringe fire and move toward a life lived outside the mundane.
